UK to suffer massive IT skills crisis....

Such is the verdict of Elizabeth Sparrow, of the British Computer Society, which this week joined Microsoft and academics to warn the UK faces a 100,000-plus shortfall in IT skills.

The report concludes that the UK software industry needs almost 150,000 new entrants every year, with older software experts tipped as one possible solution to bridge the gaps.

No.3 = Computer Software Engineer, Applications
No.4 = Computer Software Engineer, Systems Software

Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 98 and Windows ME from as soon as July 11 - in a move that forces computer users to join the XP revolution.

All users were advised to freely upgrade to XP Service Pack 2, with those on its predecessor told they are foregoing “enhanced computer security.”

“We recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system, such as Windows XP, as soon as possible.”

Hone Skills, write adware - get rich....

The internet is a world of stupid users waiting to have their machines taken over and turned into cash cows. For those with the technical nous, it is simple to create an adware program that presents users with "purchasing opportunities" to match their personal tastes, and each time an ad is clicked, the registers chime. Kaching!
